The Tax TEA Party in Huntsville is one of seven planned in Alabama today (April 15), which by the way is the last day to confirm the Federal and State Government has robbed you. The rally will be held from 12 noon to 1 p.m. in the vacant parking lot across the street from the U.S. Post Office on Clinton Avenue.

Let them hear from you!  I will be in Huntsville that day… will be great to see how many people will attend!

Today is not a “good day” in America’s timeline.  An end of a radio era that began in the early 50’s ended yesterday when  radio icon Paul Harvey died in Arizona.  I grew up listening to him on radio and just loved to hear him every day.  He was a straight talker.  A plainspoken commentator.  He had the ability of giving us news and commentary while conveying to the listener which was which.  Broadcast journalists today would love to be a tenth of the reporter that Paul Harvey had been.  Today’s journalists pale in comparison.

He never need the crutch of television to paint you a picture… he used the canvas of your mind and painted it with words that came across the airwaves.

He never tried to exaggerate the news in order to make himself a part of the story.  The news was the news… not Paul.  He was a giant among radio journalists.

No one will ever come close to replacing him. The vast number of people who were informed and entertained by him are a testament to the kind of person he was.

You will be greatly missed.

How many in the MSM are going to cover this???  It is hard to believe… very hard.

Orchard Park police are investigating a particularly gruesome killing, the beheading of a woman, after her husband — an influential member of the local Muslim community — reported her death to police Thursday.

Police identified the victim as Aasiya Z. Hassan, 37. Detectives have charged her husband, Muzzammil Hassan, 44, with second-degree murder.

“He came to the police station at 6:20 p.m. [Thursday] and told us that she was dead,” Orchard Park Police Chief Andrew Benz said late this morning.

Muzzammil Hassan told police that his wife was at his business, Bridges TV, on Thorn Avenue in the village. Officers went to that location and discovered her body.

Muzzammil Hassan is the founder and chief executive officer of Bridges TV, which he launched in 2004, amid hopes that it would help portray Muslims in a more positive light.  The killing apparently occurred some time late Thursday afternoon. Detectives still are looking for the murder weapon.

“Obviously, this is the worst form of domestic violence possible,” Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita III said today.

Authorities say Aasiya Hassan recently had filed for divorce from her husband.

“She had an order of protection that had him out of the home as of Friday the 6th [of February],” Benz said.

Muzzammil Hassan was arraigned before Village Justice Deborah Chimes and sent to the Erie County Holding Center.

Hassan wants to portray Muslims “in a more positive light”?  I think he missed the mark on that one.

Muslim males have a power trip going.  Women are second class citizens.  And this guy Hassan was not about to let his wife divorce him.  He was going to be in charge.  So he decides that he was going to take preventative action and make sure that SHE would not divorce HIM.  So Hassan served his wife with the ultimate divorce.  And certainly HE was not going to let HER kick him our of HIS house… no way.  So he gave her the ultimate eviction.

What galls me is that they are charging him with second degree murder instead of first degree.  But the liberal goons don’t care about this kind of stuff.  They wonder why people are up in arms about Islam and Sharia.  This is an excellent example.

Remember when Obama said that he would give us five days to review a bill before he signed it into law?  Well I guess his word is as worthless as a $3 bill.  And in case you forgot you can view the video:

And while we are at it… this bill also breaks some other promises Obama made to Americans…

1. Make government open and transparent.
   Right… this bill was authored by Pelosi and a few close confidants… rammed through Congress and, as of the last Senate vote this past Friday, not even the Senators had enough time to read the bill let alone understand all the crap in it.
2. Make it “impossible” for Congressmen to slip in pork barrel projects.
   Seems like his “Mission Impossible” turned into “Mission Possible”
3. Meetings where laws are written will be more open to the public.
   The meetings where this bill was drafted CLOSED to all but a few leading Democrats.  Republicans were shut out of the conference meetings.
4. No more secrecy.
   Were were the open committee hearings???  I know… THERE WASN”T ANY!
5. Public will have 5 days to look at a bill
6. So late Friday night the Spendulous bill passes Congress and heads to Obama’s desk.  If he kept his promise that would mean that the bill would not be signed until until NEXT MONDAY as five business days have to pass.  What??? He really meant “calendar days”… well then the bill would not be signed until Wednesday.  Currently he is slated to sign in tomorrow (Tuesday).
7. You’ll know what’s in it.
   Congress does not know what is in it.  How is the general public supposed to know?
8. We will put every pork barrel project online.
   URL please!

So much for changing the “politics as usual”.  Barf.

AND LET ME SAY THIS TO ALL OF THE CHATTERING CLASS THAT SO MUCH FOCUSES ON THOSE LITTLE, TINY, YES, PORKY AMENDMENTS, THE AMERICAN PEOPLE REALLY DON’T CARE. THE AMERICAN PEOPLE CARE FAR MORE THAT THERE’S A PROPOSAL IN THE BILL, THIS ONE I PUSHED, THAT GIVES A $2,500 CREDIT TO FAMILIES WHO PAY TUITION TO PUT THEIR KIDS THROUGH COLLEGE. GREAT RELIEF. THEY CARE FAR MORE ABOUT THAT THAN ABOUT SOME SMALL PROVISION IN THE BILL THAT SHOULDN’T BE THERE. BECAUSE THE TAX RELIEF FROM TUITION COSTS THAT THEY’RE GOING TO GET MEANS FAR MORE TO THEM. THEY CARE MORE ABOUT A PROVISION THAT KEEPS THE TEACHERS IN THEIR SCHOOLS.

Essentially that is what he said today:

En route to Florida, Obama said “The American people don’t need to be convinced” about the need for action. He spoke as an $838 billion stimulus bill was headed for expected Senate approval on Tuesday. If and when that happens, difficult Senate-House negotiations on a final plan still loom.

“We just wanted to shine a spotlight on how severe this downturn is all across the country, and to make sure that members of Congress understand the sense of urgency that I feel in getting something done,“ Obama said in explaining his travels to reporters aboard Air Force One.

So last nights speech, disguised as a press conference, was to impress Congress. Not the American people.  It is a “shut up and do what I say” philosophy in the White House.

If this stimulus bill passes in its current form this country will have turned a corner and running headlong into socialism.  Americans will have allowed our freedom to be sold down the river by Obama and liberal ideologues who feel that the government knows what is better for us than we do ourselves.  The liberal entitlement philosophy will have won over the conservative way of hard work and taking responsibility for your own life.

The new moto will be “Ask not what we can do for ourselves, but ask our leaders what they can do for us”.  Not to worry… the government will bail us out because “We the People” cannot run our own lives.

We have prostituted our freedom into socialism in a rush to “do something”.  The anointed one is going to do things his way and ram it down our throats whether we like it or not.

The liberals want to socialize our economy, our health and everything about our lives.  Our lives will not be ours anymore.  They will be owned by the government.

The day this stimulus bill passes will indeed be a sad day for our country.

If this stimulus bill gets passed your doctor will have a new supervisor.  It is bad enough that insurance companies have a dictatorial hand in what your doctor can and cannot do… but now the Health Czar will have a say.

Embedded in this Spendulous bill being thrashed out in Congress is a hidden provision that creates a new bureauacracy under the soon to be created National Coordinator of Health Information Technology.

Under the H.R. 1 bill, these new health rules will affect “every individual in the United States”. Your medical treatments will be tracked electronically by a federal system ("And these guys want YOUR medical records??? I think not!!!"). Page 409 of H.R. 1 has as its goal “The National Coordinator shall estimate and publish resources required annually to reach the goal of utilization of an electronic health record for each person in the United States by 2014, including the required level of Federal funding, expectations for regional, State, and private investment, and the expected contributions by volunteers to activities for the utilization of such records”. This is all under the guise of being able to have your medical records easily transferred to a hospital to help avoid duplicate tests and errors and “provides appropriate information to help guide medical decisions at the time and place of care”. The operative words here are “guide medical decisions“.

Our lives are not our own anymore… we now belong to the State!

I bet all of the Kool-Aide drinkers had themselves a ball last night!  They really swilled it down.  Glow-Bama is a cunning, deceptive person.  He really is dancing around the edges of a hot pit with his rheotoric.

It also contains an unprecedented level of transparency and accountability so that every American will be able to go online and see where and how we’re spending every dime. What it does not contain, however, is a single pet project, not a single earmark, and it has been stripped of the projects members of both parties found most objectionable.

Oh yeah??? Well how about this?

• Las Vegas wants $2 million for even more neon signs
• Boynton Beach, Fla., is looking for $4.5 million for an “eco park” featuring butterfly gardens and gopher tortoises.
• Chula Vista, Calif., would like $500,000 to create a place for dogs to run off the leash.
• Austin, Texas wants $886,000 to build a 36-hole frisbee golf course

Obama now wants to split hairs over terms like “pet projects” and “earmarks” to take the illuminating light off the point that this spendalooza bill is filled with wasteful spending. He wants to redirect the American people’s attentions away from facts and turn it towards emotional campaign speechifying.

You could have a debate over whether this stuff could be classified as “pet projects” or “earmarks”… but there is no doubt that this bill is full of wasteful spending.  Pure and simple.  Please do not take your eye off the ball.

But what I’ve — what I’ve been concerned about is some of the language that’s been used suggesting that this is full of pork and this is wasteful government spending, so on and so forth.

First of all, when I hear that from folks who presided over a doubling of the national debt, then, you know, I just want them to not engage in some revisionist history. I inherited the deficit that we have right now and the economic crisis that we have right now.

So the national debt was doubled and you want to make it worse??? How about hearing it from an American citizen who did not “preside” over the doubling of the national debt.  You are crazy.

I hope people realize that Obama hand-picked the journalists and, most likely, knew up-front what the questions were going to be. Nobody asked him a hard question.  Nobody challenged him on a thing last night.  Softballs that he eloquently hit out of the park.  But nobody dared throw him a 98 MPH fastball down the pipe.  He could not hit that.

Like I have said… God Help the U.S.A.

What most people do not understand is that this $800+ billion so-called stimulus package is not the total figure that is being laid out by the government.  We need to add in the other recent bailouts to the mix:

• The $700 billion Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) passed four months ago
• The $168 billion in tax cuts and rebates approved back in February 2008 that added debt for the next two years
• And there is an additional $8 trillion in commitments to lending programs and loan guarantees exclusively under the authority and control of the Fed and the FDIC. Which by the way these agencies refuse to release the recipients of these funds.  There is not one iota of public accountability here… (but what do you expect from the Feds)

So add it up… that is $8.8 trillion dollars ALREADY BLOWN… and then Obama and Congress want us to BORROW EVEN MORE?  It is beyond belief.  What kind of fools to Obama and Congress take us for?  The existing stimulus package now being considered would put us over $9.6 TRILLION dollars.

But this is what happens when the “hope and change” leader turns over the reigns to the likes of Pelosi and Reid.  As I mentioned earlier ("D-Day on the stimulus") Obama’s leadership is missing.  What he did was let Pelosi write the bill and assume that because she is of the anointed one’s party that most people would genuflect and the rest would just simply bend over and submit.

And now we hear that California citizens will be getting I.O.Us instead of tax refund checks.  Why?  Because they are out of money!  California citizens trusted their state to return any overpaid taxes… but now they will not get them back.  So how about California citizens giving the state an I.O.U every payday?  Guess what?  They would land in jail.  But it is OK for the state to do it.

Face it folks… this country has become morally bankrupt.  The Federal Government is out of control.  Our elected officials have no conscience whatsoever.

And this is what Obama calls hope and change.  I knew he would be a disaster for this country.

It has come down to a showdown:

The compromise on the stimulus has the support of Republican Sens. Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania and Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins of Maine, putting them over the 60-vote threshold needed for the cloture vote should they get unified backing from Democrats.

Cloture vote on Monday… final vote on Tuesday.  They need 60 votes to invoke cloture.  Let’s stop them before it is too late. We know who to call to get this deal stopped:

A stimulus bill needs to pass… no doubt about it.  But this gigantic, overblown behemoth is not going to do a thing to help the American people in the short term.  What is needed is some real leadership from Obama (which he cannot provide since he has no experience in leadership) instead of campaign style speeches which are full of hot air and rhetoric.  And we need some decent leadership in Congress that will come up with a stimulus bill that is realistic and workable.
