There would not be Islamophobia if there were not any Islamics to be phobic about

The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) is concerned about the rise of Islamophobia in the world… they are so concerned that they are considering asking nations to pass "a binding legal instrument to fight the menace of Islamophobia in the context of freedom of religion and elimination of religious intolerance…"
If the OIC is listening… and they obviously are not, then there is one sure way of ending Islamophobia today… stop killing people and stop trying to impose shari’a law upon the rest of the world. Plain and simple. Until then, expect the status quo to continue.
If that is a little too oversimplified for your taste the let’s take it apart a piece at a time. First, Islamists do not like to be called terrorists. Instead they want to known as moderate, peaceful and tolerant. If that be the case then tell me when bombing the Twin Towers, not once but twice, is a peaceful act? Or when was the bombing of the USS Cole an act of moderation? When is the attacking and murdering (and here) of innocent Christian people an act of toleration.
"The Islamophobes remain free to carry on their assaults due to absence of legal measures necessary for misusing or abusing the right to freedom of expression." With good reason… Islamists are murdering and torturing people in accordance with Islamic beliefs. They would probably say that to declare all Islamists terrorists or murderers is stereotyping. In other words it is equivalent to saying that because some black people commit heinous crimes that all black people are similarly apt to do so. Not true. It is not the same. Islamists kill and destroy in the name of their leader. They feel they are justified by their leader. And the so-called moderate Islamists do nothing about it. Oh every once in a while some Islamic leader will make a lame pass at denouncing terrorism. But that is all.
If the Islamic religion is so interested in being peaceful then they need to start acting like they live in a civilized world. They need to give up those within their ranks who commit these atrocities. They need to join themselves together and destroy Islamic Jihad training camps where ever they are in the world. They would bring Bin Laden and all the Al-Qaeda organization to justice… worldwide. They would stop sponsoring terrorism and raising money for Jihad.
The OIC is pressing for this "binding legal instrument" to force countries into passing laws to protect Islamic interests and make people abide by shari’a law. Typical response… instead of looking inwardly for the cause of the problem they blame the rest of the world. Their view is it is up to the other guy to change. And if they will not change they will try to force him to change. And if that does not work then the kill the other guy.
The OIC believes that "Everyone shall have the right to express his opinion freely in such manner as would not be contrary to the principles of the shari’a…". So freedom of speech is defined by their own standards and not the world’s. Right. At least in the United States, freedom of speech is designed to protect the individual from punishment for speaking their mind… not to protect any particular group.
The ball is in the Islamists court. It is up to them to decide if they want to join the rest of the world.
