This weekend, Network Solutions, LLC. suspended the website http://www.fitnathemovie.com that they are hosting. The website is owned by Geert Wilders, the owner of the film Fitna, a short film examining links between Islamic terrorism and the Koran. Supposedly Network Solutions received complaints that this site was offensive to some. The complainants names were not made public to protect the guilty.
If you go the website, this is the notice that you will receive:
This site has been suspended while Network Solutions is investigating whether the site’s content is in violation of the Network Solutions Acceptable Use Policy. Network Solutions has received a number of complaints regarding this site that are under investigation. This is ridiculous… just the threat of a film exposing Islamic terrorism’s roots in the Koran was enough for the the website hosting company to bolt. What happened to the First Amendment? Who made Network Solutions the freedom-of-speech cops?
Perhaps this is what Wilders really wanted after all. To expose the power that the whining minority can cause the majority to go into sheer shock. After missing several “release dates” it is very possible that this movie does not exist and that the publicity was enough to cause the Islamic fanatics out of the woodwork. They have already filed suit in the Netherlands to block the film from being shown in that country. Wilders has not allowed anyone in the Netherlands government to view the film thus far.
If he does release the video… I hope he will send me a copy of it. I’ll host it for him.
